Who we are

Northstar Digital is a website business based in Payson, Arizona. You can reach us at any time at northstardigitalaz@gmail.com.

If you want something removed, corrected, or sent to you, that address is the way to ask, and a person reads it.

Reading this website

You can read every page here without telling us anything. There is no cookie banner because there are no cookies to ask you about.

Specifically, on this website there is no analytics, no advertising pixel, no social media widget, no embedded video, no chat box, no font loaded from another company, and nothing stored in your browser.

Our host keeps a server log

This site is hosted by Netlify. Like every web host, their servers record the ordinary details of a request — the IP address it came from, the browser it announced itself as, and which page was asked for. That is how the page reaches you, and it happens before we are involved.

We do not use those logs to identify anybody and we do not combine them with anything else.

If you buy a website

Paying

Payment is taken by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout page. Your card number, its expiry, and its security code are typed on their page and go to them, not to us. We never see them and we could not store them if we wanted to.

What we get back from Stripe is that a payment succeeded, along with the name and email address you gave them, so we know whose order it is.

Telling us about your business

After paying you are sent to an intake form, which is run by Tally. What you type there and whatever you upload — your logo, photographs of your work, your hours, your prices — goes to Tally and then to us.

Nearly all of it is information you are asking us to publish on your own website. Some of it is not: your own contact details, for instance, which we use to reach you about the order.

Only send photographs you have the right to use. We cannot check that for you.

Email

If you email us, we keep the email. That is the whole of it.

Websites we build for customers

This section is about your finished website, not about this one. We are describing it here because you should know before you buy, not afterwards.

• Enquiry forms. The form on your site is delivered by Web3Forms. When one of your customers submits it, what they typed passes through Web3Forms to reach your inbox.
• Fonts. Customer sites currently load their typefaces from Google Fonts, which means a visitor's IP address reaches Google. We intend to serve those fonts ourselves instead, which removes that entirely. Until we do, it is true, so it is written here.
• Hosting. Your site is hosted on Netlify, with the same server logs described above.

Your website will not have analytics or tracking on it unless you ask for it, in which case we will tell you plainly what it does before adding it.

What we never do

• Sell, rent or trade anyone's information.
• Track you across other websites.
• Add you to a marketing list because you bought something. If we ever send marketing email it will be because you ticked a box that was not already ticked.
• Use your photographs for anything other than your own website, unless we ask you first and you say yes.

How long we keep things

• Your order and intake answers: while we are working with you, and afterwards as part of our business records, because records of sales have to be kept for tax purposes.
• Your uploaded photographs and logo: kept so your site can be rebuilt or restored if something breaks.
• Emails: kept unless you ask us to delete them.

Ask us to delete something and we will, unless we are required to keep it as a business record — in which case we will tell you which part that is and why.

Children

This is a service sold to businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from one.

Changes to this policy

If what we do changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top changes too. We will not quietly broaden it.
